Organized at Fortress Monroe, Va., April 1, 1864, from 3rd Pennsylvania Heavy Artillery. It recruited nearly nine hundred men. It was mustered out at City Point, Va. 1865.
It served in numerous engagements including: Battle of Drewry’s Bluff, Cold Harbor, Chaffin’s Farm and Fair Oaks.
The unit, sadly no longer exists today and has no historical connections to the current US Infantry. This kepi would make a great talking piece for your man/woman cave, study, New York Office, Store, Barbers or similar places of work or play!
