Austria-Hungary, often referred to as the Austro-Hungarian Empire or the Dual Monarchy, was a constitutional monarchy and great power in Central Europe between 1867 and 1918. It was formed with the Austro-Hungarian Compromise of 1867, and was dissolved following its defeat in the First World War.
The original name was kk Landesschützen-Regiment Nr. II and was supplemented in 1897 by the addition of the garrison of the regimental staff. From then on it was called kk Landesschützen-Regiment "Bozen" Nr. II . The regiment was last renamed kk Kaiserschützen - Regiment "Bozen" Nr. II by order of Emperor Charles I on 16 January 1917. There was no official reason for this.
The badge is 43mm tall, 30mm wide and 1.5mm thick. Its is made of brass/bronze and has a clasp pin on the reverse. The words 'K.K. Landesschützen 1914/15 Regiment Bozen No. II' are around the outer edge with an edelweiss flower in the centre.
