These reproduction British chinstrap fabric covered buttons are about 90% accurate and are used to mount the chinstrap to the cap. Used from the 1900's right up to the 1960's when plastic buttons were used.

Originating prior to WW1 these were used through both world wars and are still used today, albeit they are now made of plastic not fabric covered metal.
Worn by all ranks depending on branch of service and seen on RFC, RNAS, Navy, RAF, White Star Line, Merchant Navy etc. caps.
These buttons have been copied from an original and are 90% accurate as they are not quite flat on top. They are 10mm in diameter.
