German Helmet Aluminium Oxide Texture
How to apply your WWII German Helmet Aluminium Oxide:
You have several options to paint and apply the aluminium oxide. The pictures below show the different finishes. Make sure you put the helmet on some newspaper or similar so that you can gather up any unused texture granules. The texture we supply should easily do several helmets.
Option A - pour some paint and a small amount of aluminium oxide into a small container. Using a brush apply the paint. move the brush around to get an even finish. Apply more paint and/or texture to the container as you go along - don't waste it! See picture A below for finished result.
Option B - apply the paint to the helmet and while still wet gently sprinkle the aluminium oxide over the painted surface. Allow to dry and then repaint the helmet using a brush with a dabbing motion or a spray gun. This method we feel gives the best results.
Option C - apply the paint to the helmet and while still wet gently sprinkle the aluminium oxide over the painted surface. Do not cover with a second coat of paint. We find this is the less preferred method as the texture can glint in the sunlight. See picture C below for finished result.
