German M38 Helmet Winter & Normandy Chicken Wire:
M38 Paratrooper Helmet - Chicken Wire Camo
This reproduction helmet is a M38 mid to late war version of the paratrooper helmet in dark green paint with single eagle decal (completely hidden).
It has been painted in winter white camo and then finished in traditional Normandy paint scheme in light tan and green with chicken wire added.
It represents one used by the Luftwaffe Fallschirmjaeger from approximately 1942 onwards and is suitably stamped with ET71 (Eisenhutten Thale) and batch number. It has a later war zinc liner band fitted which has suitably rusted in places. It has a large PRYM chin strap popper fitted as a replacement.
The whole helmet shows heavy use and aged with lots of dark rust but with green and white paint showing through in many areas.
It has the M38 aluminium slotted pattern bolts to the rear and vented aluminium bolts to the side.
The inner lining is very well maintained yet aged, again to reflect the period of use and 70+ years of ageing. The lining rubber is fully intact. There are two war stamps in the liner leather showing helmet and liner size just like the originals. This helmet could easily have served in Italy, Russia or European theatre operations as the paint scheme and fittings are applicable to them all. The pictures do not do this helmet justice, it looks even better in its natural state.
This is not an inexpensive paint job as found on most well known auction sites - effort and time has been spent to get it as accurate as possible. Owning a genuine one would be several thousand pounds, you can have the world's best copy for a fraction of the price.
