WW2 US USAAF Leather Cap Insignia Decal
The United States Army Air Forces (USAAF or AAF), informally known as the Air Corps, was the aerial warfare service of the United States Army during and immediately after World War II (1939/41–1945), successor to the previous United States Army Air Corps and the direct predecessor of the United States Air Force of today.
Perfect for:
- USAAF Collectors
- Identifying Replica Markings
- Re-enacting & Living History
- Cap and Flight Helmet Restorers
This decal was used on leather B-2 flying caps and leather flying helmets to identify the equipment as 'Army Air Forces'. We have recreated this decal from an original so you can use it on your headgear or to repair an original.
This decal can be used 'as is' as is based on water solvent glue, or you can secure it more firmly with our 'Leather Decal Firm' solution. The originals used an adhesive solution to fix it to the leather.
You can get our 'Leather Firm' here and instructions for applying the decal here.
The last two pictures show original decals used on original headwear.
