These silk top caps, it is thought, were originally made for the officer to go horse riding with light headwear. But in reality it was just a 'dandy' cap to purchase and wear especially when 'crushed'!
They are exact high quality reproductions, not cheap eastern made versions. They are exactly like the originals and are made with the correct materials and fittings, including ersatz leather headband and real leather peak - just like originals!
These come in authentic olive/green silk top with black velvet cap band and red piping and Prussian and Reich cockades and chinstrap. The last colour picture shows a modified chinstrap (not included). Remove the metal former and front support and 'crush' the cap to start building the 'crusher' style!
