This is a top of the range WW2 German navy gilt metal Enlisted Ratings cap eagle badge.

This is the best reproduction badge currently on the market. The detailing is extremely impressive. This would be a great addition to your Kriegsmarine U-boat enlisted hat. This eagle was worn separate from the cockade (combined eagle & cockade also existed).

It is maker marked 'R.S & S 40' on the reverse. It measures 50mm wide, 20mm tall and 3.5mm thick and is attached by the pin on the reverse.
