Superb reproduction 1930's period Allgemeine SS Officers Schirmmutzen Visor Cap. In SS black wool material and silvered early period Deaths head and Eagle. Made by EREL, with RZM label, and RZM SS visor stamp.
This great example has a top of soft, black trikot weave wool and has a high, swept back peak. The white piping is excellent and slightly yellowed over time.
There is a black velvet center band. The insignia is tombak with nickel silver finish that remains mostly intact on both the eagle and the totenkopf. The silver bullion officer chin cord is excellent, remaining tightly affixed by a pair of silver finished pebbled metal buttons.
The black vulkanfibre visor has minor crazing and is marked 'RZM SS'. The interior is fully lined in tan rayon. There is a rhomboid shaped moisture shield with 'SS Circle runes'. The sweatband is soft tan leather with minor stains, the 'EREL' marking is clearly visible. Underneath is a reproduction RZM tag. This cap really has it all and a genuine one like this would sell for £6000 upwards!
