From August 1915 onwards field grey was introduced for all arms including the cavalry but again the variation in shade and quality was vast. All shades of colour can be seen from a light brown, khaki, grey-green to grey especially in the manufacture of officers uniforms who for the most part purchased their own uniforms. There was also a declining quality which lead to a wide range of headwear, colours, finishes and modifications to save resources!
This reproduction cap is made of museum quality materials and the workmanship is outstanding. A very high quality 1915 Cap which is perfect for wearing or displaying your genuine Austro-Hungarian cap badges so widely used in WW1. See final pictures as examples of units (the goggles, feathers & oak leaves are not included in the sale).
Notice the cap has an extra pair of buttons, these were for adjusting the cap when in the 'down' position but in reality were seldom used.
If you like a snug fit order your correct head size, if you like a loose fit order a size larger!
