This is a reproduction German Model M1895 to World War One Enlisted Pickelhaube.
The Grand Duchy of Baden maintained three Dragoner (Dragoon), Regiments; Dragoner-Regiment Nrs 20, 21, and 22. Dragoner-Regiment Nr 20 was the oldest, formed as a Leib-Dragoner-Regiment in 1803.
The helmet has Officer stars and the pearl ring where the spike is attached is also officers style. The chinstraps are brass.
The body is black lacquered leather and the fittings are gilded gold wash. The main metalwork is finished in nickel. The chinstrap has good wear and age related finish. Notice the the rear spine and correctly coloured cockades and the age cracks in the leather body. This a superb high quality aged reproduction pickelhaube.
The inside has a well used but complete leather sweatband and two ribbed liners. The rear and front leather peaks are correctly for a Dragoner Regiment.
A similar genuine example is very rare, very sought after and would be worth £2500+, this one is a snip of a price and would look great in a study or office - a great discussion piece!
