Vietnam Period USN Electronic Warfare Technician Helmet Stencil
Helmet stencil used during the Vietnam period by the United States Navy Electronic Warfare Technicians. These markings were generally used on the blue/grey Navy helmets and is made to look hand painted.
This stencil is suitable for hand painting. It is approximately 70mm tall and 66mm wide. If you intend using it on a cloth cover, use black fabric paint. You will need to hand paint in the 'tabs'.
The Electronic Warfare Technician (EW) rating was born in 1971 when the Radarman (RD) rating was disestablished and Sailors serving in that capacity were moved to the existing Electronics Technicians (ET) rating, the newly formed EW rating, or were assigned to one of the new established positions of Operations Specialist (OS).
