Issued early in 1939, the B-1 Summer Flying Cap saw service in Africa, Europe and the Pacific. Popular among pilots and ground crew alike, the B-1 was enjoyed for its breathable fabric, slightly longer brim and comfortable fit. This B-1 cap reproduction features a lightweight summer cotton fabric, 4-panel design and formed brim.
The originals were khaki/olive colour but they did fade considerably in sunny climates and just like the originals this one is heavily faded. The inner peak is undulating and not smooth, like a brand new version would be.
It has a leather inner liner which was removed by some wearers.
This cap will fit a 58 head (loose), 59 (perfect fit), 60 (tight fit).
