Originating prior to WW1 these were used through both world wars and are still used today, albeit they are now made of plastic, not leather.
Worn by all ranks depending on branch of service and seen on RFC, RNAS, Navy, RAF, White Star Line, Merchant Navy etc. caps.
These straps have been copied from an original and they are available in black patent (shiny), leather or natural (matt), leather. They are approximately 10mm tall.
These will fit all caps, you will need to adjust where you want the buckles to sit on the cap and then cut off the end or ends. Then make a slit or hole with a sharp craft knife or hole puncher. Be careful that you do not rip the leather when fitting. If you can remove the cap buttons before fitting this is ideal but not necessary.
The two cap pictures shows the strap in use.
