There is little knowledge of Hans-Dieter Heinicke. His u-boat U-576 sunk 4 ships and damaged 2 others. It was sunk on the 15th July 1942 in the North Atlantic off Cape Hatteras. Heinicke received the following awards:
Dienstauszeichnung IV. Klasse, Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse, U-Bootskriegsabzeichen Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse.
This reproduction cap badge is made from painted & chromed enamel zinc and is in aged (old), condition. It is the coat of arms from Radevormwald Germany and is based on the 1934 version.
It is approximately 1.1mm thick, 24mm wide and 25mm tall. The last picture compares our new badge and our 'aged' version of this badge.
