Most of these above regiments fought in the Napoleonic Wars and the Franco-Prussian War under Prussian leadership and many went on to serve in WWI.
This type of helmet is around 1897 production. The body is black lacquered leather and the gilded fittings have lost some of their gold wash over time. It has the early Grenadier-style wappen with the FRW oval. The pearl ring, trim, and spike are all officers-level items.
The inside has leather sweatband and cloth skull, supported by wooden supports. The metalwork is finished in brass and gilt (gold), washed. Notice the age cracks in the leather body. This a superb high quality aged reproduction.
A similar genuine example is very rare, very sought after and would be worth £4000+. This one is a snip of a price and would look great in a study or office - a great discussion piece!
