A set of mismanufactured reproduction aged WWI German M16, M17, M18 & Austrian / Hungarian German Helmet split pins (Rivets). These were used for attaching the liner to the helmet shell. There were no washers, as used in the WW2 helmets.
These have been manufactured inaccurately. The width of the split pins is 7mm when it should be approximately 5mm (see pictures), this means they will not fit through the hole in the helmet. However all you need do is grind, sand or file down the edges of the split pins to get them to fit. The price reflects this small inaccuracy!
Made from ferrous metal (it rusts), just like the originals and they come unpainted but rusted.
So if you need a liner fitting to your World War One helmet you can buy these rivets. There are two thinner capped ones and one thicker capped one, this was to allow the fitting of a sniper protection visor at the front of the helmet. All you need do is fit them through the shell and liner holes and bend them back!
