The Königliche Leibgendarmerie were the life guard for the Kaiser and his relatives. They had one then latterly two platoons. Initially they were assigned to the Gardes du Corps regiment and was referred to as the “Garde Reserve Army Gendarmerie Command”. This gave rise to the Leib-Gendarmerie term.
This beautiful quality Schirmmütze is made from a high quality green wool with blue headband and yellow piping and Prussian and Reich cockades. They are made in Germany by Robert Lubstein.
They are exact high quality reproductions, not cheap for east versions. They are exactly like the originals and are made with the correct materials and fittings.
