After bombing raids many utility services (gas, water, sewage, electricity and telephone) would have been disrupted. Many British local authorities had specialist teams that would deal with these breakages. This stencil is for a Repair Party Gas team member.

This marking and other variations, were used on British Tommy helmets by the local authorities in WWII. The stencil is made from very high quality acrylic vinyl with tacky backing, which in layman's terms means its re-usable.
It measures 45mm tall and 127mm wide. The 'tabs' were sometimes painted in or left unpainted. The tab on the 'G' has been left unpainted as an example.
Suitable for hand or spray painting but the 'tabs' will need to be hand painted (if required), after stencil has been removed.
