This is a reproduction U-Boat badge indicating which submarines were grouped into the 10th Flotilla. It would be worn on the side of the cap.

The 10th Flotilla formed in January 1942 and disbanded in October 1944.The badge was designed by flotilla chief Rear Admiral Kuhnke and there was a number 10 on the front of the submarine when painted on the boat but omitted when worn as a crew badge.
It measures 48mm wide and 25mm tall. It is made of copper alloy and coated in gilt and then aged. Attach it either sewing it on using the two loops or make two holes in the cap and secure using a piece or wire or cap pin.
