Some women became ARP Ambulance Attendants whose job was to help administer first aid to casualties, search for survivors, and help recover bodies. Their main role was to patrol the streets during blackout, to ensure that no light was visible. Wardens wore a white 'W' on a black helmet while Chief Wardens who wore white helmets with black lettering. This stencil is smaller than our larger version.
