U-201 The Snowman Cap Badge - Adalbert Schnee - Aged condition
'The Snowman' was used by Knights Cross winner Adalbert Schnee. Scnee is the German word for snow, hence the Snowman Emblem with knights cross. This was also painted onto the conning tower. U-201 sunk 22 ships, 2 auxiliary warships and damaged 2 ships.
It was Sunk 17 Feb, 1943 in North Atlantic by depth charges from the British destroyer HMS Viscount. At this time it was commanded by Günther Rosenberg.
