'The Snowman' was used by Knights Cross winner Adalbert Schnee. Scnee is the German word for snow, hence the Snowman Emblem with knights cross.

U-201 was attacked for 5 hours in one operation (patrol) by HMS Amazon, HMS Nigella and HMS St. Apollo. 99 depth charges were dropped while trying to sink it. It was damaged but survived and returned to base. The Snowman was probably pretty warm after this attack!
