World War One Chin Strap for the M16 or M17 Helmet. This strap has rusted steel fittings, cotton stitching, optional makers marks and is made in Germany. It is nicely aged, ready for your genuine or refurbished M16 or M17 helmet.

These are handmade in Germany and you have the option of two makers marks (C. HEINICHEN DRESDEN 1917 or H. MULLER & CO OFFENBACH A.M. 1916).
Each one varies in length fully extended between 43cm and 53cm (see picture), so will fit all WW1 German Helmets. In the fully closed position they measure between 26cm and 33cm (see picture), so may fit some Pickelhaubes (a common practice). They vary between 1.5mm and 3mm in thickness.
Rust expands metal so if you are struggling to fit the loop over the helmet post just file down the inside of the loop so you get a better fit. These are almost certainly the best aged chinstraps on the market!
This strap may also be suitable for the WW1 Stahlhelm, Pickelhaube and Shako such as the Jager (Jäger) or Gebirgstruppen (gebirgsjäger) Shako's.
Be aware, neither these or the original versions were designed to fit over the peak of the helmet, if they do then you are lucky!
