The 1st U-boat flotilla (German 1. Unterseebootsflottille) also known as the Weddigen flotilla, was the first operational U-boat unit in Nazi Germany's Kriegsmarine (navy). Founded on 27 September 1935 under the command of Fregattenkapitän Karl Dönitz, it was named in honour of Kapitänleutnant Otto Weddigen.
This badge is made in France as the originals were. We believe this to be the best reproduction and aged 1st U-Boat Flotilla hat badge available. Notice the colours are subdued and not garish and bright. Also notice the vertical & correct type of swivel pin (copied from original).
The final two pictures compare our aged and new versions of the badge.
