Reproduction German U-Boat Submarine Captains Peaked cap with 70+ years of ageing and some lightly and evenly worn and tarnished areas as worn by the Captain of U-203 Rolf Mützelburg (Knights Cross) and latterly Hans Seidel (after Mützelburg died swimming off the boat). It was also commanded by Hermann Kottmann, until sunk in April 1943.
The peak, liner and chinstrap etc. all show good wear and both the inside and outside are stained and aged. Notice the gold emblem and Captains peak ranking are dark and tarnished. This cap displays the red 'Turtle' device and the Essen coat of Arms - two of the insignias painted on the conning tower.
The top is fully removable and it is marked EREL - Sonder Klasse - OKK - Berlin on both liner and sweat protector. This cap is made in Germany and the EREL mark is copyright making it even more exclusive. The boat sunk 21 ships and damaged three others.
This is a high quality aged peaked Hat from a U-Boat Captain with an outstanding war record.
