The shell is a genuine Model 1942 in heavily rusted but sound condition. It came to us with the inside and outside in field grey. The liner and band are also genuine.
We have added the museum quality Waffen SS Runes and Italian Campaign tan paint and left markings where a second National Socialist decal was applied and then removed.
This is a 'Reproine' (Reproduction/Genuine), helmet with a mix of genuine and reproduction parts and would look outstanding for a SS collection at a fraction of the price of a complete original.
We have also added a replica 'R. Larsen Berlin 1940' chinstrap and split pins. We have camouflaged painted the outer shell in tan and aged up the helmet shell and reproduction parts.
This represents a helmet used by the SS Leibstandarte during the Italian Campaign in August 1943.
