M38 USA Tankers or 'FURY' Helmet. This reproduction helmet is exactly like our new version but has been made to look used. It is perfect for US Armoured Reenactors, Helmet Collectors or similar.
It has been painted OD Green, then painted in tan yellow for Operation Torch (invasion of Northwest Africa) and then repainted in OD Green (for the Italian Campaign), but made to look roughly painted as if done in the field.
The paper 1st Div stencil has been varnished to protect it and it shows good signs of wear and ageing. The owner has added medical tape round the rim for either extra padding or for support.
The leather is perfect and has dark areas and if you are going to wear it, it could do with some conditioner to clean it and make it softer.
The goggles are optional - they are reproduction Panzer goggles again suitably aged. They have perspex lenses yellowing and cracked in areas.
Most of the poppers have rust on the underside but all still work. Altogether a great piece of kit if you want a period looking & working Tankers Helmet for Living History or display and a fraction of the price of an original.
