This reproduction helmet is based on the Afrika campaigns of World War Two. It is an early war Double decal 'ET71' shell and chinstraps with batch number at the rear.
It has dark Luftwaffe green grey base paint and then a tan sand coloured camouflage top paint. The paint has aged and worn during combat as well as over the years. It has the early model M38 steel vented liner retaining bolts. The inside of the shell has a white wash colour (possibly to reflect the African heat).
The eagle decal is 95% intact and 50% visible and the national colours decal is also partially visible.
The chinstraps are very faded (from the sun) and have a lovely wrinkled texture with the metal parts and buckles showing green corrosion
This helmet would make a fantastic item in your DAK Afrika Fallschirmjäger collection and lets face it an original with liner would be GBP £8000+.
