This reproduction helmet is a M38 early war version of the paratrooper helmet in dark green paint with a single decal. It shows light wear but with 70+ years of ageing.
It represents one used by the Luftwaffe Fallschirmjaeger from approximately 1940 onwards and is suitably stamped with ET71 (Eisenhutten Thale) and batch number.
The whole helmet shows light use and aged with dark apple green paint showing clearly. It has the M38 steel pattern bolts and standard chinstrap again aged and tarnished in many areas. The eagle decal is 99% intact and shows clearly with 'yellowed' varnish. The shell has several areas of white (now aged yellow), spots to reflect it being near a winter whitewash spray. There is a 'ding' on top of the helmet representing a 'near miss' bullet mark!
This is not an inexpensive paint job as found on most well known auction sites - effort and time has been spent to get it as accurate as possible.
This helmet would make a fantastic item in your Fallschirmjäger collection and lets face it an original similar to this one would be GBP £5000+.
