We consider this to be the worlds best M38 Paratrooper Helmet liner band, made in Germany from the original specification and original bands.
Perfect for:
- Restoring relic or replica helmets.
- Comparing to original liner bands - fake identification.
- Replacing cheap flimsy copies on reenacting helmets.
- Helps to 'finish' a display helmet without liner.
It is made from aluminium and is 1mm thick and 30mm deep. It is stamped '71' and welded at the front. The two front tabs are 30mm wide and the rear is 105mm wide. The rubber/leather attachment holes are 3mm in diameter. The top has a curved bevelled edge, which unlike other replicas allows the liner to fit very tightly into the helmet shell just like the originals.
It will fit genuine ET71 shells, FJ Werke replica shells and Deepeeka shells. It may fit others, either 'as is' or with modifications (drilling the bolt holes so it sits deeper in the helmet), but we cannot guarantee this. Liners can only be return in undamaged condtion!
Fitting is straightfoward. Gently bend the liner to the helmet shape from the attachment marked '71' support. Bend in the two front support tabs to allow them to clear the shell bolt holes and slide into place. This is supposed to be a tight fit so you may have to press firmly and insert one bolt at a time to retain it in position.
