WW1 Ersatz M1914 Füsilier-Regiment Königin Viktoria von Schweden
This is a reproduction German Model M1914 Ersatz World War One Pickelhaube with repairs.
The 34th Regiment Füsilier-Regiment Königin Viktoria von Schweden (Pommersches) was based in Stettin Germany. This type of ersatz helmet came into production in 1914 when demands on leather was intense. So they made helmets from alternative material, this one is compressed rabbit fur. This one has a leather peak and rear guard attached after refurbishment. The fittings are in gold washed brass.
The helmet is the standard Prussian type, the line eagle has a large scroll along the front, bearing the inscription in black lettering: "Für Auszeichnung d. vormalsKönigl. Schwedischen Leib-Regiment Königin", this referring to the tradition and origin of the regiment before 1815, when the Northern part of Pommern belonged to the Kingdom of Sweden. It also has a silver cross donating a reserve unit.
A similar genuine example would be worth several thousand pounds, this one is a snip of a price and would look great in a study or office - a great discussion piece!
