This reproduction cap has been made from Trikot (gaberdine), material and reflects a very rare Waffen SS cap. Both the peak and upper cap have been made from this material.
The insignia is museum quality and both eagle and death heads skull insignia show good wear with patina, stains and base metal showing through on the SS skull. Behind the skull is the EREL ventilation system - very rare!
The hat is a large 59 size and we recommend this as a display piece and not for wear. Treat it like an original.
The leather sweat band is in very old and stained condition and the celluloid sweat protector shows age colouring. There are wear & age stains on the inside with some darker areas.
The white Waffenfarbe piping is lightly aged and now a light yellow/tan colour.. There is some age related dust in places. There are small amounts of wear and discolouration to the outer headband and cap and staining to underside of peak (where the water settles when worn in combat).
A genuine Waffen SS Trikot crusher cap in this condition will easily go for thousand's of pounds, which is out of the price range of most average collectors if one ever did come on the market. This one looks the part and is at a snip of a price.
