The Luftwaffe helmet and liner are genuine, the outer paintwork and decal are reproduction. The inside is 'as found' genuine and has an acceptance stamp on the inside. The makers mark and batch number are only partially visible. This is one of our 'Reproine' helmets - mixture of reproduction and genuine.
The helmet outer and inside skirt was painted in post-WW2 black. We have stripped the outside and managed to uncover the original paint on the inside skirt and left the inner shell as found, with acceptance stamp. We repainted in textured Luftwaffe grey, applied a museum quality decal and then camouflaged it in white.
We have made this helmet to look medium to heavy used, found after a few years and then stored for 70+ years.Notice the paint over the Luftwaffe Eagle - superb!
If original and if it ever came on the market would probably sell for £2,500+ GBP
