Prior to and during World War One, the German Imperial Army marked their Pickelhaube camouflage covers with Regimental numbers. These were either sewn or stencilled.
These 'iron on' felt numbers allow you to mark German regimental markings onto your Pickelhaube cover. The numbers are made of 'iron on' felt but we recommend using fabric glue or sewing to fix them securely. The font is accuarate for the period and in size(approx 50mm to 55mm tall). 'L' was worn for the Landwear & Landsturm units and 'R' for Reserve units.
Red felt was used for pre & early WW1 and Green for around 1915 onwards. Perfect for reenactors, living history, model makers and helmet enthusiasts.
