These are made to order - please read the details below!
These helmet liners were the second version of M38 liners used early war and into middle WW2.
The schwammgummi (rubber pads), are the correct cream/tan colour which goes darker yellow with age due to UV light exposure, these will also 'yellow' over the years!
The rubber is covered with 100% cotton cloth. 1 set consists of 1 so called spider with 7 sizing/cushion blocks. The padding and blocks are, just like originals, cut with a clicker press, so the cutting edge has a concave shape. The rubber has the right density and appearance. Once aged you cannot tell the difference between originals. We can make these in shell size 68 or 71. We recommend that you order a liner one or two sizes larger than the indicated size as these were made to exact sizes and therefore tight on most heads!
Shell size (Stahlhelm) 68 = Liner sizes (Kopfweite): 56, 57, 58
Shell size (Stahlhelm) 71 = Liner sizes (Kopfweite): 59, 60, 61
All specifications are taken from the original drawings, real wartime photographs from the Bundesarchiv and original liners. We started production from the ground up without using replica’s as samples, as we wanted to offer 100% accuracy.
These will fit Warhats M38 Shells and Genuine M38 shells - we cannot guarantee they will fit other replica M38 helmets!
The features are:
- The correct weight, strength and technical make up.
- The correct cream rubber padding.
- Leather made from tan lambskin.
- Stitched in Gruschwitz No. 10 thread
- Real cotton rubber reinforcement.
- Aluminium liner ring.
