Reproduction 'Boot' badge worn by the crew of U-20 U-Boat during WW2.
U-20 went on 16 war patrols, sinking 13 ships totalling 30,067 GRT and damaging three more of 10,292 GRT (2 total write offs). She was scuttled on 10 September 1944, in the Black Sea off the coast of Turkey. One of her famous commanders was top u-boat ace and knights Cross recipient - Karl-Heinz Moehle. U-20 did not suffer any war casualties during its service.
This reproduction cap badge is factory made in Germany just as the original emblems were, It is made from aluminium and is new (un-aged) or aged condition. It is a boot with suitable engraving and comes with two attachment holes for sewing onto the cap.
It is approximately 1.5mm thick, 56mm wide and 35mm tall. The last picture is an original version of the badge.
