RMS Titanic Officers Cap White Star Line Peaked Vintage Hat SS R.M.S. SOLD (but Email us if you want a similar one to your specification)
This is a extremely high quality reproduction Officers cap as worn by Officers on board the RMS Titanic on her maiden and only voyage 100 years ago.
RMS Titanic was a passenger liner that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean on 15 April 1912 after colliding with an iceberg during her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York City. The sinking of Titanic caused the deaths of 1,517 people in one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters in history. She was the largest ship afloat at the time of her maiden voyage. One of three Olympic class ocean liners operated by the White Star Line, she was built between 1909–11 by the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast. She carried over 2,200 people – 1,316 passengers and about 900 crew. Consequently Titanic items have become extremely collectable over the years and prices are set to increase given this is the centenary year of its sinking.
This cap, if original, would easily exceed £20,000+ if sold on the open market. To my knowledge there have been zero officers caps sold and only one ratings cap sold recently in the UK. This is an extremely collectable item and will sell for a tiny fraction of the price of an original. It has been made to look like it has been badly stored and preserved over its 100+ years of life, the peak for example is wrinkled with age. The brass buttons show the correct crown and the wreath is suitably aged and worn. The list of features goes on. This is probably the best reprodution cap available today. Most of my helmets and caps go to Museums, private collectors and for film work and you now have the chance to own a piece of maritime history.
There are no original Titanic hats out there to purchase, even aged reproductions can be quite tricky to find, so grab yourself a great looking Titanic Officers Cap in tribute to the men and women who lost their lives on that fateful day 100 years ago.
Full worldwide insurance is included within the Postal charges, this protects you the buyer!
