WW2 German Kreigsmarine U-Boat Captains Cap U-18 OKK Berlin

U-18 EREL made U-Boat Hat

This U-boat cap has the U-18 badge added to the left hand side - Torpedo smashing through a red star. This was made for the crew and Captain Karl Fleige after sinking the soviet 400 Ton TSC-11 Dzhalita ship on 29th of Aug 1943. In total the ship had the following record: Sunk 2 warships and one auxiliary ship and two ships damaged. The 'Soviet Star & torpedo' badge is hand made and one-off. We do not currently sell this badge on our site, making this hat even more exclusive.

This is another of our top of the range reproduction Kriegsmarine U-Boat Captains Peaked caps made in Germany by the owners of the EREL company trademark. Sold in aged condition exclusively by us.

There is a huge range of features that differentiate this cap from others and reflects the higher price tag due to the quality of the workmanship and ageing. This is the best reproduction U-Boat cap on the market and modern thread has been used (which glows under UV light), to prevent them being passed as original.

The cover of the cap is removable just as many of the originals were for washing. The liner is made of white rayon type material. The celluloid head sweat protector is a lovely aged yellow colour and has the following original markings: 'GES GESCHT'; 'EREL'; 'Sonderklasse'; 'OKK'; 'Berlin'. Exactly the same markings as originals. In this hats case it still has the paper size marking within the name slot '60'. The leather sweatband has punched holes at the front and the ribbon is in brown cotton.

The chinstrap has a rusted button popper and the two Kreigsmarine attachment buttons are of the correct small size with the anchor in the centre. The wreath is identical to the German made WW2 type and the eagle has been made in Europe and added separately (due to being banned in Germany). This is the worlds best Kreigsmarine Eagle for quality - look at the pictures for the detailing.
