WW2 German M40 ET72 Luftwaffe Helmet - Refurbishment:
This helmet was supplied by a customer. It is extremely rare and is estimated to be only 1% of all WW2 German helmets. It is a ET72 sized Luftwaffe Helmet, an incredibly large helmet size.
It was painted post WW2 in a horrible grass green colour so before restoration we did not know what arm of service it belonged to. The liner was extremely dry and fragile and as well as lots of cracks, two of the 'fingers' were missing as were several of the liner retaining pins.
After restoration it is found to be a single decal Luftwaffe helmet and there is one other of this configuration in existence. The liner band is marked '65' but there are no other visible markings.
