Zulu War 24th Foot Foreign Service Helmet - Rorke's Drift & Isandlwana owner marked 'W. Jones'
You will never own a 24th Foot Rorke's Drift Helmet, so the next best thing is the worlds best reproduction.
This reproduction Foreign Service helmet has been made to look over 130 years old and to look as if worn in the Zulu Wars. The helmet has been treated with several coats of 'blanco' (whitening mixture) and then treated as the troops did by toning it down to a khaki colour.
The inside has leather and metal fittings and a honeycomb pattern liner allows the helmet to 'breath'. The buckle on the chinstrap is brass and is a genuine British military buckle and is over 60years old - yes the buckle and strap is genuine British army and the leather is very fragile.
The inside has the owners name 'W. Jones'. The inside has been painted in white and natural green cloth and ventilation device is also aged. It has a red cloth head liner and leather liner which has a hand sewn finish.
This helmet will continue to age naturally. A huge amount of effort has gone into this helmet to make it as accurate as possible.
Full worldwide insurance is included within the Postal charges.
