Be aware the 82'd did not use decals in WW2 they either hand painted or used stencils to add their insignia to their helmets. There are several surviving genuine helmet examples displaying this insignia.
This can be hand painted and is easy to apply. The 'tabs' on the circle need to be done by hand as does the black dot within the circle. You can get stencil instructions here.
This stencil can also be used to create the Demolition Platoon of HQ Company 508th PIR.
