Received my second order of decals last week and I am very, very impressed. I like to restore helmets, so I will be back. Thanks and best wishes for your business! F - USA Comment from WarHats:Hi we use old wood varnish which is nice and yellow in colour, it gives excellent results. However if you plan to do this yourself make sure you test a tiny area of the decal as petroleum based varnishes can destry the decal! Comment from Customer:Hi Warhats.com Comment from Warhats:R - glad you like our items we want to Comment from Customer: Hello, Just to say i got your German helmet transfer today,It's very high quality, sure looks good on my m-35 .....Thanks. Regards R.C. - UK Comment from WarHats:
Glad you like it, we strive to make the worlds best and most accurate decals. Its not just about the detail, its about the application of a 'thin' transfer so that it moulds itself to the helmet just as the originals did. You should not be able to feel the transfer once applied! Comment from Customer: When trying to REMOVE a repro decal from a helmet, what is the best solvent to use to remove the old glue? Thanks - Bob - USA Reply from WarHats:
Various methods can be used but generally we find that Acetone works well but if you want to preserve the paint do not rub too hard. Give it a go and let us know the outcome! Thanks WarHats Waffen SS Decal Comment from customer: Hi guys, just wanted to say thank you for the very nice SS decal I received from you guys. Very professional piece and very easy to "install". I used the face down method for the first time and I must say it was super easy! I actually used massage oil instead of the kiddies glue + tamiya glue to fix it on the helmet. After this process I let it dry for a few hours and then I put real rust on it (scraped from an axe or other older tool using sand paper). Now the decal looks aged and looks like it's original to the helmet. The final stage was putting the laquer on it. Final result is simply awesome! Cheers, G - Canada WarHats Comment: We like what you have done, take a 100% intact and new museum quality SS decal and apply to a relic helmet, with suitable ageing & damage to blend it in. It looks great, a good looking waffen ss relic helmet with applied decal. Great stuff, keep it up, WarHats. Comment from Customer: Hello, The decal arrived today. In a word,,,,WOW. I am very impressed. Great detail. I have been a reenactor here in the US for over 20 years and have devoted my (German) impressions to pre 1941 (I got sick of the late war grubby look). This decal is somewhat a holy grail. I could not find this here in the states. Thank you for offering it and for your great service. I hope to order again from you soon. A Happy New Year to you.
