These badges are made in Germany as the originals were. We believe this to be the best reproduction U-453 cap badges available, with correct colours and details more accurate than all the other copies. It is copied from the 1936 version of the Nuremberg Eagle with a King's Head or coat of arms.
U-453 sunk 10 ships, damaged 2 and incapacitated 1 Warship. It was sunk on the 21st of May 1944 in the Ionian Sea north-east of Cape Spartivento, by depth charges from the British destroyers HMS Termagent and HMS Tenacious and the British escort destroyer HMS Liddesdale.
