Here as promised a few pics of my “Günther Prien” corner (actually mantle piece it is…). The green large map is an original one, displaying the depths of the relevant ares in order to make sure a U-Boot didn’t inadvertently got stuck to the seabed…There’s the 1/72 model (scratch-built by my father-in-law and painted/weathered/finished by your truly. I also have the Kriegsmarine Officer’s dagger (almost mint condition) and a frame with all Prien’s awards. Missing on the display (because forgotten to add it…) is a first edition of his famous story “Mein Weg Nach Scapa Flow). Important edition since this was published when Prien was still alive. Most editions on the market are later ones with an extra short addition that Prien didn’t return from a mission. I have an original newspaper cutting which publilshed his MIA a week after he got lost and presumed KIA. P - Belgium
